Kendrick Lamar has been mostly quiet for over a decade, but today he has made his comeback with his new single The Heart Part 5, which has featured some unexpected surprises.

The Heart Part 5 is the first taste lovers have received from Lamar''s next album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, which is due out May 13th. The video, directed by the rapper and Dave Free, features Lamar performing in front of a crimson backdrop. Sounds simple enough, right?

The deepfakes change so slowly that it almost requires a double-take until the song continues. Lamars confronts suddenly morphs into several celebrities who have been embroiled in a variety of situations. From those damned by public opinion like Kanye West and Will Smith, to those who are literally incarcerated like Jussie Smollett and O.J. Simpson, the deepfakes change so slowly.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is Lamars'' first album since DAMN., the Pulitzer Prize-winning 2017 effort, with The Heart Part 5 becoming his first single as the lead artist since the collection of songs he made to accompany Black Panther.

Little is known about the album so far, with Lamar keeping his cards on his chest, but we do know that it will be his final collaboration with Top Dawg Entertainment, a long-time record company. In a statement released last year, Lamar discussed what working with the label has meant to him.

As I complete my final TDE album, I realize that I am fortunate to have been involved in such a cultural circle after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And, most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my lifes calling. Theres beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.

The Big Steppers'' Mr. Morales will be out on May 13th.
