Travis Scott, a rapper, has been quiet in the music scene since the deaths of several people at his Astroworld festival in 2021, and is expected to return on the public stage at the Billboard Music Awards.
This year, the awards show had announced a slate of performers, including the 31-year-olds, who had planned a major public appearance since the devastating experience. Among the awards are Megan Thee Stallion, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Morgan Wallen, and Silk Sonic.
It''s important that the highly-publicized performance will take place in front of a seated awards show audience.
Before this, Scott''s live presence has been more minimal than before. In March he performed a brief set at a private pre-Oscars party, and his appearance was recently featured on Hold That Heat, a Southside and Futures single, as well as promising dates in South America. As of last month, Billboard stated that lawsuits against Scott and Live Nation are still going on as a result of the 2021 incident, as lawyers warn that a Concert Crush documentary may taint the outcome
Scott has also appeared in films. He first saw a documentary about himself in 2019 and then appeared in Gully as a store owner before lending his voice to Trolls: Holiday in Harmony last year. He has also signed a production agreement with A24, which is working on a film entitled Utopia. He hasn''t commented on his planned performance this weekend as of this story being filed.
