PS4 and Nintendo Switch sales are increased

PS4 and Nintendo Switch sales are increased ...

The Nintendo Switch''s first handheld and home console was reimagined after its highly-anticipated debut, with major titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in mind. A new survey reveals that the Switch has recently crossed another significant milestone as the portable console is further into the bestsellers list.

With the PlayStation 4, the Switch has been one of the most popular video games on the market since the portable/home console hybrid release in March 2017. With almost every one of Nintendo''s major ongoing series, such as Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, the console has been recognized as among the best in three years, according to a new survey from the National Development Agency. The Switch has now surpassed the PlayStation 4 in lifetime sales.

According to a new sales study from a market research firm The NPD Group said the Switch''s sales in April 2022 have marked the Switch''s largest selling home console of all time in the United States, ranking behind the PS2, Xbox 360, and Wii, the sixth highest ranking when combined sales. The Switch''s sales are currently at the corner, with two other Nintendo platforms, the Game Boy and the Nintendo DS.

NPD Executive Director Mat Piscatella shares a few more details on video game sales during the month of April. The PlayStation 5 remained the top-selling console of April, with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga being named the second best-selling game of the year. Nintendo''s recently released Nintendo Switch Sports also topped the charts as the fifth best-selling game of April, with seven competitors in the Top 20.

The Switch''s big milestone comes as the most recent accolade in a year that has already seen significant releases and highly anticipated announcements for Nintendo. Previously, Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Nintendo Switch Sports will look to keep Nintendo''s momentum going throughout the year. Passing the PS4 in sales will add another bonus to the storied history of one of Nintendo''s most popular platforms.
