How To Defeat All Ulcerated Tree Spirits in Elden Ring

How To Defeat All Ulcerated Tree Spirits in Elden Ring ...

The first time you have encountered an Ulcerated Tree Spirit in Elden Ring is most likely at Fringefolk Hero''s Grave, which is located in one of the very first areas in the game. Since then, there have been more variations of the Ulcerated Tree Spirit in various areas in The Lands Between, and they are just as violent as chaotic.

FromSoftware is a movement that demonstrates how to withstand a relentless, wriggling worm with the intent of killing you. Their total hard work and a deepening understanding of them makes it a riskier task to keep up with them, less to defeat them. Hence, a complete setdown of these parasitic worms is to permanently exterminate them.

Outside of the ones you''ll discover in the Fringefolk Hero''s Grave and War-Dead Catacombs in Limgrave and Caelid respectively, Ulcerated Tree Spirit bosses can be found at Mount Gelmir and the Mountaintops of the Giants. For the latter, you''ll find the boss at a Minor Erdtree near the Road of Iniquity Site of Grace, while the latter is close to the Giant-Conquering Hero''s Grav

With similar move sets, the game has allowed you to seek as much assistance as you need when it comes to these bosses. It is best to summon tanky Spirit Ashes such as Lhutel the Headless or Kaiden Mercenary to deal with the walloping these Ulcerated Tree Spirits inflict. However, the Ulcerated Tree Spirit in the catacombs puts you in a bit of a difficult situation, given that it doesn''t means it isn''t doable

Ulcerated Tree Spirit Attacks

The Ulcerated Tree Spirit has a wide range of attacks that it uses. Most of the time, this boss launches itself against you and flips toward the boss arena with devastating consequences. It is a challenge on your part when it also inflicts a detonator attack that can one-shot you. Here''s a full list of the Ulcerated Tree Spirit''s attacks.

Ulcerated Tree Spirit Attacks

Attack on the Tail Sweep

The boss will use his long tail to make a full sweep of the room.

Counter: This attack has an extremely wide range, so take a shot back and do a roll the moment you see its tail coming around.

Attack on the Body Swerve

In this case, the boss will raise its tail, then swerve, and perform a full 360 while releasing its tail.

Once the counter performs its twist, press the dodge button.

Attack on the Hand

The Ulcerated Tree Spirit will raise its hand before slaughtering it twice.

When you see it raise its hand, you may return to life without seeing it again.

Attack on AoE from Yellow Detonation

The Ulcerated Tree Spirit''s body will begin to glow and tremble before releasing a devastating explosion of yellow fire. The attack combo continues with a few spires of fire rising upward.

Counter: The moment you see the boss glow and shake, you immediately run to the other end of the boss arena.

Launch Attack

This boss, like a worm, approaches the room to you to squeeze into bits, landing on the ground in a heap of dust.

Roll to the side the moment it zips across the room, and roll again to the side when it leaps and launches straight towards you.

Attack of ''Fire Breathing''

The Ulcerated Tree Spirit starts to glow, but not as bright as the detonator attack. Rather, it opens its mouth and starts breathing out a slew of bright, yellow flames.

Counter: Roll to the side to avoid the flames or get behind the boss and begin attacking.

Head Slam Attack

For this attack, the boss will retrace its head somewhat and then slam it back down.

The moment you see it crashing its head back down, you may be forced to dodge in the opposite direction.

Attack of a flaming hand is taken place.

The boss will reach out to its right hand with its other hand and sweep it to the side, leaving a trail of blazes in its wake.

Return to the counter as soon as you see it reaching over to its right hand.

The flaming hand is slapping on a rock.

Contrary to the previous attack, the boss will use his flaming hand to swipe at you without reaching over to his other hand.

Use a shield or roll away from its handle to counter.

Overhead Slam Attack

In this battle, the boss closes its hands together and slams them onto the ground.

Roll to the side once more to avoid this disastrous attack.

Battle Strategies

You can use two methods to defeat this boss. Because this boss is aggressive and a lot, being a melee combatant will be more difficult than being a ranged fighter. For weapons, upgrading your blade to a +6 will be sufficient in dealing with this deadly worm.

Utilizing Torrent is recommended for Mount Gelmir''s Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Enjoy the vast, open area and mount Torrent, who is dealing blows while diverting away from any of the attacks.

If things get tricky, you''ll need to upgrade your weapon to +6, as well as summon a tanky Spirit Ash to help you. Alongside using different types of Greases to boost your weapon, you should avoid using Hoarfrost Stomp or Flaming Strike to identify its shortcomings.

You can upgrade your chosen Spirit Ashes to a +5 so they can keep up with you. It''s recommended to utilize weapons such as Moonveil Katana or any Colossal swords to punch your opponent. You can also avoid using an Opaline Bubbletear.

Ranged combatants have a bit of a leg up in comparison to melee fighters. However, as a sorcerer, using a Spirit Ash summon to assist is still recommended. However, any sorceries that deal Physical, Fire, or Frostbite damage will be effective against an Ulcerated Tree Spirit.

This boss should also consider using any Dragon Communion Incantations, especially Dragonfire or Agheel''s Flame, in order to boost your defensive capabilities. Opaline Bubbletear is advised against a violent foe.
