Resurrection, directed by Andrew Semans, is a psychological thriller that features Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth, and tells the story of Margaret (Hall, who is a well-known mother who struggles with her life and struggles with her unfinished business. The film has just had its world premiere at this year''s Sundance Film Festival.
Then, viewing a video for Margaret explaining that if she is watching the video, "something went wrong." Then, viewings begin a day in Margaret''s life, which involves her going on a jog, giving a presentation at work, and sitting in an auditorium of sorts; however, things begin to take a dark turn when Margaret notices Roth''s character sitting in the auditorium where she also sits, leading her to have a panic attack of sorts while very interesting critiques rise.
As the trailer progresses, an unnerving sound design and a chilling voiceover accompany pictures of Margaret being stalked and possibly stalking Roth''s character. Margaret soon begins to spiral, seeing an image of a baby in the oven and being told she''s "having an episode." At the end of the teaser, Margaret returns to Roth''s mysterious character, where she tells her that he just wants her "to be happy."
Seman''s screenplay for Resurrection has been included on the 2019 Black List, which includes Alex Scharfman, Drew Houpt, and Tory Lenosky. Resurrection is Seman''s second film, which follows Nancy, Please, who appeared in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Hall is most known for appearing in television shows such as The Prestige, The Town, Christine, and Godzilla vs. Kong. Roth is a prolific actor who has worked with many prominent actors throughout his career, including Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, Tim Burton, and Michael Haneke. The actor will then be seen in the films There Are No Saints, Poison, and Punch, as well as the upcoming Marvel Studios series She-Hulk.
