Alan Ritchson Cast in Mystery Role "Fast X"

Alan Ritchson Cast in Mystery Role "Fast X" ...

According to Deadline, Alan Ritchson has signed a deal for Fast X, the tenth installment in the highly anticipated Fast & Furious franchise. While all of his involvement has not been revealed, the Reacher star is just the latest name to round out the all-star cast for Dom Toretto''s latest high-octane adventure.

Ritchson is looking for the action-packed film right now. He currently stars on Amazon Prime''s Reacher, playing former solider Jack Reacher. The series has recently concluded its first season, and has been renewed for a second. Prior to that, he played Hawk for three seasons on Titans.

On The CW''s Smallville, he plays Arthur Curry, who also plays Aquaman. That should make an interesting Easter egg for those familiar with the game, because one of Ritchson''s Fast X users knows a thing or two about playing the aquatic superhero. This year, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa would be joining Fast X, in a villainous role.

Another superhero, this time from the Marvel side of things, is rounding out the new cast members. Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has also signed on to play alongside Charlize Theron, who is returning. They include: Diesel, Tyreese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang.

While casting for Fast X has been smooth sailing so far, it cannot be said for other aspects of the production. Just as the project formally began production, Justin Lin was reported to be stepping away from the director''s chair. Lin was reportedly responsible for directing five out of the nine films in the main series, including the most recent entry, F9. According to reports, his departure came amid tensions with series star Diesel. However, he remains on board as executive producer, with Louis Leterrier taking over the directorial roles

The film "French X" is set to premiere as the first in a two-part series. Gibson claims that each film in the series has been influenced by how F9 one-sided its predecessor. It''s anyone''s guess how Fast X will be able to overcome that. Perhaps this time around the Fast Family will discover time travel?

Fast X enters theaters on May 19, 2023.
