Stephanie Beatriz Joins the Adaptation of 'Twisted Metal' ...

Peacock has announced another casting that will be behind the wheel in Twisted Metal, a streaming service''s upcoming action-comedy series. Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) has joined the project in a starring role for the live-action adaptation of the video game franchise.

Beatriz will play "Quiet," a character described as a "badass" car thief who tries to overcome prejudice before playing him in this game. The Twisted Metal series has included a hefty amount of gameplay, including some new titles and games. The first game since the original''s release, the series has included a number of sequels and spinoffs, with the most recent title now available on PlayStation 3.

Beatriz is most well-known for her role as Rosa Diaz in the comedy comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She also recently provided her voice to Disney''s 2021 animated film Encanto as Mirabel and voiced Batwoman in Catwoman: Hunted. Among the upcoming short-film anthology Trans Los Angeles and The Bob''s Burgers movie, reprising her role as Chloe Barbash.

Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show, Bad Trip) is expected to lead several episodes of the series, primarily because of Michael Jonathan Smith''s ability to lead the show, and as a showrunner and writer.
