Tate Taylor, an Academy Award-nominee for Wyolah Entertainment, has also been announced to direct the series, with Katie O''Connell Marsh also working as executive producer for Boat Rocker. Apple Studios will begin producing the series.

The official description of the series here is a read:

''Mrs. American Pie'' is a story about gorgeously untold individuals who, like Wiig, seeks to cross the unencumbable distinction between the haves and the have-nots. ''Mrs. American Pie'' addresses the same questions that we still have today: Who gets a seat at the table? What will you sacrifice to get there during the early 1970''s, according to each outsider''s desire for superficial perfection.

Mrs. American Pie does not have a date or a date set.
