The MTG Summer sets feature double Masters and a return to Dominaria ...

During Weekly MTG, a slate of summer releases was highlighted, revealing a recap of the next few months of Magic: The Gathering products.

More information on the future Universes Beyond collaboration with Warhammer 40,000 was revealed by Wizards of the Coast. These details were followed by information about two of the summer sets: Dominaria United and Double Masters 2022.

Double Masters is the return of masters sets to the release calendar. Masters sets are complete with entirely reprints. Each pack includes two rare or mythic Rare cards and two foils. The original Double Masters was first released in August 2020.

Previews for Double Masters 2022 begin on June 16 and continue until June 24. The prerelease week is set for July 1 to 7 with a worldwide release on July 8. Each Rare and Mythic Rare is also covered by a foil etched treatment.

Many cards will feature fresh art and border treatments, as well as cards with reprint art. Five cards were revealed as a part of Double Masters 2022.

  • Liliana, The Last Hope
  • Wrenn and Six
  • Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
  • Weathered Wayfarer
  • Bring to Light

During prerelease events, Weathered Wayfarer and Bring to Light will be able to get promo versions at WPN Premium stores.

Dominaria United is still five months away, but Wizards provided some information on the games'' return to its original location. The prerelease week for Dominaira United is scheduled for September 2 to 8. A global tabletop release for Dominaira United is scheduled for September 9.

More information will come later in the summer, but Dominaria United will begin a multi-set narrative with multiverse consequences.

Every set from Dominaria United will feature new Jumpstart packs. Jumpstart is a Magic format in which players combine two 20-card themed packs and fight against 40-card Limited decks.
