Fred Ward, a gypsy actor, has died at the age of 79 ...

In Tremors (1990) and the 1996 direct-to-video sequel Tremors 2: Aftershocks, actor Fred Ward, who was perhaps best known for his role as handymen, died on May 8th.

I am sorry to announce the passing of legendary actor Fred Ward, who passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the age of 79, after reading a statement from his representative, which was published to the New York Post.

While his death has not been revealed, his rep Ron Hofmann expressed his desire for the actors to pay for memorial services in the form of donations to the Boston University Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center. Ward starred in the Robert Altman films The Player (1992) and Short Cuts (1993), which won him a Golden Globe as part of the ensemble cast. He played the villain in the 1994s Naked Gun 33+13: The Final Insult, and the lead in Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins in the 1985 film.

Alan Sepinwall, a critic of the Rolling Stone, said that although Remo Williams was flopped, Ward continued to give excellent live-in performances for the rest of his career.

Ward is survived by his third wife of 27 years, Marie-France Ward, and his son Django Ward, who went on to marry.
