Even as the ongoing defamation trial in which she is embroiled in with ex-husband Johnny Depp is expected to resume next week, a petition to remove Amber Heard from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom continues its massive boost by surpassing four million signatures.

In fact, the petition on directly refers to the trial, indicating that everything that has unfolded in the highly-publicized court drama has likely contributed to more people supporting it.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million for defamation, claiming that she made false domestic abuse allegations against him that detrimental to his career. Heard is counter-suing Depp, also for defamation, for $100 million.

While Heard claims to have been abused by Depp, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor claims exactly the opposite: he was punished by her and not the other way around. Ascertainably, supporters of the petition have sided with Depp, ascertainable as the petition''s description.

According to a petition, Johnny Depp exposed Amber Heard as a domestic abuser. In his $50 million lawsuit, Johnny Depp exposes many incidents of domestic abuse that he suffered at the hands of his (other) wife Amber Heard.

Depp claims that his self-destructive attitude of drug and alcohol abuse sparked him cutting off his own digit. She claims she repeatedly assaulted and slapped her.

The sheer rate at which the petition has gained traction is astounding, as it has gained one million new signatures since last week. At the time, the petition had also increased by one million signatures, compared to the two million mark at the end of last month. This all comes amid a trial that has been publicly broadcast from a courtroom in Fairfax, Virginia since mid-April.

Despite the court of public opinion favorable to Depp, it is difficult to truly suss out if Heard was deceptive in her domestic abuse claims, because much of that conviction has shifted to one person word against the other. However, a highly publicized audiotape, in which Heard appeared to admit to hitting Depp and starting physical confrontations, has been a much-cited piece of evidence for Depp-defenders ever since it was released to the media in 2020.

Depp''s lawsuit against Heard centers around an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, in which she describes herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse. In 2016, Heard accused him of making similar allegations of abuse.

The trial will resume on Monday, and Heard will continue her testimony under direct scrutiny.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are scheduled to premiere on March 17, 2023, after being canceled from an original theatrical production scheduled for December of this year.
