Tom Hiddleston compares The Essex Serpent to Loki

Tom Hiddleston compares The Essex Serpent to Loki ...

Tom Hiddleston took on the lead in the Apple TVs mystery series The Essex Serpent, who is sticking up the god of mischief mantle for something much more grounded in science just short after Loki''s production.

The actor, who became a household name after first portraying Loki''s MCUs rendition, plays Will Ransome in The Essex Serpent, and serves as Cora Seabornes'' (Claire Danes) skeptical counterpart as they enter a complicated sequence while searching for the titular Essex Serpent, the reported sightings of which brought Seaborne to the Essex area in the first place.

Hiddleston was all too pleased to compare and contrast his two most recent portrayals in an interview with Digital Spy.

Yes, the God of Mischief, to a Man of God. I''m really pleased with it. There are some interesting things between them. However, Loki is a sort of incarnation of chaos. When you meet him, Will is a much more responsible, much more careful, and a much more solid individual. I suppose he''s trying to keep his community in a different way, I''m sure.

Er also commended the fun he had in developing the friendship between the two characters.

I loved the transition, to change the context, and to be around different people and collaborators in a different imagined space. Both of them were fantastic and rewarding in different ways.

The Essex Serpent is currently streaming on Apple TV.
