The first look trailer for the IFC''s upcoming psychological thriller Resurrection has been released, and the film is a snag for a public eye audience, which resounds like a solid take on the formerly pulp- and gore-driven genre. The film, which was awarded many worldwide attention at this year Sundance Film Festival, was aiming to become a successful horror/arthouse shake-up.
In a performance that has already received critical praise, Godzilla vs. Kong actor Rebecca Hall plays Margaret, a woman who leads a tightly-organized existence, her life as a single mother to daughter Abbie, and her busy career perfectly compartmentalized, until a shadow from her past emerges.
David, played by Tim Roth, returns to Margaret''s life, carrying the horrors of Margarets past. Following her growing fear,Margaret must confront the monster she has faced for two decades, according to a press release from the Financial Times.
Andrew Semans'' script based on the 2019 Black List of popular un-produced scripts from new screenwriters is written and directed. According to Hall and Roth, Grace Kaufman and Michael Esper will play the film.
The film will begin theatrically on August 5. It will also be available as Video on demand and will then be available for streaming on Shudder.
