Jennifer Connelly might be a newbie to the Top Gun franchise, but she handled the love scene with Tom Cruise like a pro, or at least handled a question about the love scene with Tom Cruise like a pro.
Maverick''s senior lady spoke only positively about her experience through her characters eyes: While the Top Gun: Maverick''s senior lady talked about her journey through her characters:
We focused on how they fit into each other''s lives. I think the characters have a really soft relationship, the way she understands him. They share a moment in bed chatting, and it tells as much about their relationship as the scene that is the preamble to that. Evident, they have a bit of conflict between them, and she navigates that with humor and playfulness. I feel like she is an actor who is positive and is moving toward happiness.
Although love scenes, according to Variety, aren''t something we see often from Cruise at this stage in his career, it may be said for Connelly. Both are perhaps more successful, but Connelly''s Requiem for a Dream sextravaganza is notorious among cinephiles.
Connelly expressed more fear about flying with Cruise than intimately landing on him. Despite her awful fear of flying, she was completely embarrassed before he took her up in a tiny P-51 aircraft during filming. He eased her trepidation by saying (as per Connelly), it will be very smooth.
We wonder if he told her the same thing before their love scene..
When Top Gun: Maverick hits theaters on May 27, watch and hopefully never cringe.
