The sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the end of the line for non-cosmo franchises, but also the actor who drives the camera. After finishing all three entries in the trilogy, MCU director James Gunn contemplates abandoning Marvel Studios as he confronts fresh creative challenges. What he is not doing is completely delaying the business.

After a hilarious mix-up on Twitter, Gunn felt the need to clarify this. Following the film on Vol. 3, the @GamingOverdose_ Twitter account erroneously shared that the threequel would be Gunns last film ever. Good God I hope it''s not my last film ever.

Gunn is likely to helm more films as he considers his TV commitments for the time being. He is also hesitant to write and direct the entire second season of HBO Maxs Peacemaker, but he is also attached to the executive production of Viola Davis Amanda Waller. He does have a film project on the way, although he is not using the megaphone. He also co-wrote the script for Coyote vs. Acme, which stars his DCEU friend John Cena

Although Guardians 3 may not be the sequel to Gunns, it hasn''t been an easy task for him to do so, as he introduced his last images to social media earlier this month.

We''ve still got a ton of Guardians content to come. Star-Lord and his crew are expected to comeo in this summers Thor: Love and Thunder, but the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be released on Disney Plus this December. Vol. 3 will follow the teams adventures when it arrives in theaters next May.
