Anime never sleeps. Each season brings with it a few dozen shows, whether it be new properties or returning franchises. There is always something to look forward to or watch, and anime series are not too difficult to gain access to outside of Japan.
On the other hand, anime films are quite common, and they tend to take longer to make their journey to the West. For example, My Hero Academia: World Heroes'' Mission was first released in Japan on August 6, 2021, but it was only released until October 29 in the United States. It was a surprising turnaround as a result of MHA''s international fame.
Since it might be tempting to stick to series, that might result in missing out on some of the greatest anime of all time. So, while waiting for the next episode of Komi Can''t Communicate and 86 to drop, why not check out these finest anime movies?
If the movie is available as part of a streaming subscription, the service will be mentioned.

Neon Genesis Evangelion''s legacy, established by Hideaki Anno, is beyond doubt. The ''90s anime series has a solid foundation, owing to its struttric action and character-focused psychological drama, while The End of Evangelion is a film that, once seen, will not be forgotten.
Rebuild of Evangelion revamps the original NGE story, giving an alternative take to both events and characters. Both films stick fairly close to the original series, but things differ significantly following that point. The first two films, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, serve as a worthy sequel to the entire series.

Makoto Shinkai''s 2016 fantasy film received rave reviews throughout the day. Your Name sees a boy from Tokyo and a girl from a rural town swap bodies, a supernatural event that allows them to develop love and self-interest. However, the anime throws out a compelling twist halfway through the story, sending the film in a completely different direction.
Your Name is a fantastic animation, an impeccable soundtrack, and a fun story that blends romance, comedy, and action quite well. If you want to introduce someone to anime, Your Name is a great place to start.

The Monogatari series is an acquired pleasure. Based on Nisio Isin''s light novels, the anime revolves around Koyomi Araragi''s encounters with supernatural forces; however, this arrangement does not match the show''s skillful writing, unusual but engrossing visual presentation, and a quirky sense of humor.
Kizumonogatari is a prequel to the franchise and establishes how Araragi came into contact with Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade. For the better or worse, these films divide every aspect of the series into three digestible sections, despite boasting perhaps the most easy-to-follow narrative.
A Silent Voice (2016)
|Japanese Title||Koe no Katachi|
|Where to Stream A Silent Voice (USA)||Netflix|
2016 was just a fantastic year for anime movies. A Silent Voice is a difficult but rewarding watch. It focuses on Shoya Ishida''s relationship with Shoko Nishimiya as children, and this bullying sparked the entire class to mock the girl.
Shoko agreed to leave the school and everyone else turned on Shoya. A Silent Voice chronicles Shoya''s journey towards self-forgiveness, a path that leads him back into Shoko''s life. Bullying is not an easy topic to tackle, but this film manages it fantastically as it humanizes both the victim and the perpetrator.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 continues this trend, further demonstrating that the days when a feature must be associated with Studio Ghibli to gain Western traction are long gone.
Yuta Okkotsu, a high school student who cannot seem to shake the spirit of a deceased friend, is presented as a prequel to Jujutsu Kaisen 0; in fact, it is possible to argue that Yuta is a stronger lead than Yuji, although the latter may be used as an entry point in the film.

Ufotable''s adaptation of Kinoko Nasu and Type-Moon''s The Garden of Sinners light novel should not be intended for anyone to pursue anime. Nevertheless, it is a satisfying and satisfying watch for those interested in learning about (or understanding) its non-linear rants, philosophical musings, discomforting themes, and graphic violence. The films mainly revolve around an agency that investigates supernatural instances, although a significant amount of time is dedicated to exploring the psyches of the main
Although some movies are quite successful, The Garden of Sinners needs to be considered as a single experience, with later releases giving a clue to its history and potential. Paradox Spiral is the best film in the series, and it gives a surprise for Fate-stay fans.

The animation for Steins;Gate is a ridiculously straightforward franchise. It''s all fantastic, and the anime has been developed with one of the finest stories of all time, as well as a direct movie sequel and an alternate reality spin-off. On the surface, the film excels in expanding upon its predecessor, while removing Kurisu Makise from the crowd.
Kurisu is the only person who preserves her memories of Rintarou Okabe when she disappeared. The scientist must discover if she is willing to risk everything to save Okabe.

|Where to Stream Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (USA)||N/A|
This is the second film focuses on Sakuta''s former crush, a youngster who appears to exist at two ages. Unlike the series, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl is a blend of drama and humor, although the focus is primarily on the former and the other.
The film reveals a more personal story for Sakuta than most of the scenes from the series, putting him in the center of the proceedings rather than someone who seeks for girls to encounter significant difficulties. Nevertheless, people who did not enjoy the show have no reason to check out the entire story until they see Dreaming Girl.

Jubei Kibagami, a wandering swordsman, is forced into a conflict with ninjas, plagues, and villains with devilish powers. Ninja Scroll, which is wildly paced, is a thrill journey from beginning to finish.

|Where to Stream Fate/Stay Night Movie: Heaven''''s Feel Trilogy (USA)||N/A|
There is a lot to worry about, but Fate/Zero and stay night are all standard for action anime in general, and the Heaven''s Feel trilogy might be better than both.
Heaven''s Feel, which opens the door to Type-Moon''s Fate/stay night visual novel, is centered on Shirou Emiya''s relationship with Sakura Matou and the 5th Holy Grail War. These films capture Shirou''s character in a more effective way than the TV series, thus the trilogy is essential for those looking for an entire experience.
Spirited Away (2001)
|Japanese Title||Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi|
|Where to Stream Spirited Away (USA)||HBO Max|
Hayao Miyazaki, an anime filmmaker who requires no introduction, is the only one. Spirited Away is the best Animated Feature, an accolade it more than earned. Like most Miyazaki''s films, Spirited Away fits the theme of fantasy and reality in its whimsical way.
Spirited Away discovers the young Chihiro in a bathhouse for spirits, a situation that is far from safe for a human. The studio Ghibli animation is unsurprising, as well as everything else about this film.
KonoSuba: God''s Blessing On This Wonderful World!Legend Of Crimson
|Japanese Title||Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Movie: Kurenai Densetsu|
|Where to Stream KonoSuba: God''''s Blessing on This Wonderful World!: Legend of Crimson (USA)||Crunchyroll, VRV|
The Isekai anime has been inescapable for the most part of a decade, so it was only a matter of time before a parody of the genre was granted access to screens. KonoSuba: God''s Blessing on This Wonderful World!: Kazuma and Megumin, combined as the two most popular characters, are among the characters.
The film has a good deal of humour as it explores Megumin''s roots. It even concludes with a spectacular battle that humiliates anything from the series (although action is hardly the point of KonoSuba).
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas
|Japanese Title||Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai|
|Where to Stream I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (USA)||N/A|
I Want to Eat Your Pancreas has hit so many of the tragic romance tales: antisocial protagonist, charming girl, terrible illness, and tears...so many tears. The anime film does not attempt to shake up the conventions of this formula all that much, but it does an amazing job of crafting something beautiful from this familiar puzzle.
Haruki Shiga and Sakura Yamauchi are the main characters in the film, as the central couple create a dynamic that allows both of their personalities to shine rather than one being used to advance the other. I Want to Eat Your Pancreas earns its heartfelt moments by dedicating a substantial portion of its runtime to solidifying the two leads as pooches and realistic individuals.
Wolf Children (2012)
|Japanese Title||Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki|

Wolf Children takes on more than a decade of Hana''s life, demonstrating the highs and lows of parenthood. It is a fantastic film in more ways than just visually. In 2022, Hosoda''s next film, Belle, will be released in the United States.
Perfect Blue (1997)
|Japanese Title||Perfect Blue|
|Where to Stream Perfect Blue (USA)||N/A|
Perfect Blue is a stand-in for Satoshi Kon''s filmography, as the Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, and Paprika are all fantastic anime movies. It is by far his most terrifying project.
Mima Kirigoe leaves her idol group to start acting, a decision that breaks the woman''s public and subconscious self. Perfect Blue steadily blurs the line between fiction and fiction, not explaining what is real or just Mima''s tortured imagination.
Princess Mononoke (1997)
|Japanese Title||Mononoke Hime|
|Where to Stream Princess Mononoke (USA)||HBO Max|
Spirited Away is Miyazaki''s most famous film, but Princess Mononoke is also a contender for his best anime film. The same theme for Princess Mononoke''s stories is the struggle between nature and human development, which is the most evident in Princess Mononoke.
The anime finds a forest''s gods in an attempt to halt human settlement advancements; in the meantime, an outsider Ashitaka interacts with both sides. Princess Mononoke does not preach or talk down to its audience, giving a neutral look at the characters'' actions, presenting neither side as evil.
