Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is positioned between a rock and a hard spot

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is positioned between a rock and a hard spot ...

Although many anticipated this year Call of Duty would be Modern Warfare 2, it was nice to see Activision and Infinity Ward confirm it a few weeks ago. Very little outside the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 logo, seen above, has been confirmed, but many observers are anticipating further information in the future.

As the official release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fades, many are accustomed to regular Call of Duties, but if anything, it''s all right to everybody. It''s clear that Modern Warfare 2 might be one of the most stress-free Call of Duty titles in recent years.

High Expectations in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are met with high expectations.

The original game will take the best parts of the first game, innovates and builds upon them, as well as the introduction of new titles. This is understandably much harder on regularized titles like in sports games or Call of Duty games, but fans will still look and compare Modern Warfare 2 to the first 2019 game. This is arguably the best CoD game in recent years.

Both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard have a lot of issues, but it has to remain with the other titles as well. In the most part, it is distinct enough from the mainline titles that the relationship between them is quite symbiotic. Both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard have not satisfied with the standard Modern Warfare set.

Both have redeeming qualities, and there is little doubt some fans enjoy these two entries in the franchise. However, they are not Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and that puts more of that on the lead for success on the next title. It does not help that one Call of Duty pro has supposedly not heard much good about MW2, but until the announcement, until players see gameplay, and much morehas just a lot of expectations for one game.

It has to live up to the first game, it has to live down the previous two games, it has to shape out its own identity, and its has to prove itself worthy as its own Call of Duty game and as an inheritor of the Modern Warfare 2 titlethe 2009 game that many fans still love to this day.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in the works.
