5 New Sports Mario Should Try in Nintendo

5 New Sports Mario Should Try in Nintendo ...

The Super Mario series may be the plumber''s flagship series, but it''s certainly not the sole reason why Nintendo''s mascot character became the gaming industry''s most popular icon, as the Mario franchise has expanded into a variety of sports and racing games, especially the Mario Kartseries.

Mario Golf: Super Rush, which is expected to hit stores in June 2022, has had their differences aside. Among the franchise''s sporting releases, however, the franchise''s events do not appear to slow down anytime soon. Mario Golf: Super Rush, which is expected to be released in 2021, is scheduled to be released at stores.

Given the variety of Mario sports games, Nintendo will likely be attempting to broaden the platformer''s sporting skill set in the coming years to cover exciting games. Although some of these games have been shown as mini-games in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series, they are still to be released as full releases.

5 Pro Wrestling

As Nintendo developed a game that would have hailed as Super Mario Spikers in the mid-2000s, it would have included a unique blend of wrestling and volleyball. Unfortunately, the game was canceled. Despite this idea, a game that introduces the Mario players to the bizarre and over-the-top world of professional wrestling sounds even more sad.

Professional wrestling is known for shady moves, extreme match conditions, and larger-than-life characters, which all sound well in line with the Mario universe. Moreover, wrestling video games have always been popular among people with no real interest in WWE or AEW, as the Royal Rumble, Hell in a Cell, and Ladder matches are great fun with friends.

Although Mario characters may play a pro wrestling game on their own, it might be fantastic for gameplay as well as promotion if characters like The Rock, Hulk Hogan, and John Cena were included in the game.

4 Cricket

Since cricket is the world''s second most-watched sport, it''s quite surprising that Mario Cricket hasn''t become a reality, as well. Although on the one hand, it makes sense that Bowser hasn''t tried to take Mario''s head off with a bouncer yet, as cricket isn''t popular in Japan or North America.

People don''t like Mario sports games because they want a precise representation of their favorite sport, so if Nintendo believes that they can create a cricket game with Mario, then it might be a big success for the sporting series and also help the sport reach new countries.

3 American Football

Football is essentially experiencing a different problem as Cricket, which is very popular in the United States, but is struggled to attract international attention.

Along with football being more popular in the United States, it''s also a well-known stop-start sport that might put a lot of people off in a Mario game, particularly kids. However, Mario recently discovered the possibility of a sequel to Mario''s Kingdom Battle, which is scheduled to be released soon, so there''s still hope for Mario to test his throwing arm yet. A Mario footballgame that leans into the strategy side of the sport might be fantastic, as it would distinguish the game from the many Mario sports releases

2 Rugby

If football''s stop-start nature is indeed an issue for Nintendo, then rugby might be the perfect solution, retaining younger audiences engaged in its more fast-paced action.

Rugby eliminates the endless stops and a lot of protective gear from football and lets players battle it out in a notoriously rough and fast-paced sport. Fortunately, real-life rugby is well-known and has legal requirements to make the game as secure as possible, though these have the potential to be hilarious, cartoonishly violent, and engagingly action-packed.

1 Skateboarding

Skateboarding and video games have always gone hand-in-hand, particularly with the Skate and Tony Hawk''s Pro Skater franchises. Not only is it great fun to get high scores by scoring spectacular tricks and combos, but the Skate series'' exploration, and the Pro Skater series'' fun mission goals, have always led to great fun, especially with friends.

A Mario skateboarding game appears to be a no-brainer, as being able to perform over-the-top side goals, complete side objectives, and freely explore levels inspired by some of the Mario universe''s most famous kingdoms, courses, and platforming levels seems to be a lot of fun and effective.
