The Deathbirds are located in different areas of the game. You will have to change the time to Night-time and roam the area until the bird of death drops from the sky. Defeating each Deathbird will provide you Armament, Shield, and Talismans. The boss fights are optional, and you do not have to complete them if you are experiencing problems. They do not affect any end, so you may return later in the game once you have increased levels.

Deathbird Attacks
In most of their attacks, Deathbirds have similar attacks to Death Rite Birds, but they don''t like Frost and Death.
Deathbird Attacks |
---|
Thrust in Cane
Deathbird blows its cane towards the player.
Roll through the attack or back to avoid the attack.
Cane Sweep
The boss raises its cane and performs a quick sweep. With another sweep or slam, the boss may follow up the attack.
Dodge towards where the sweep is coming from.
Peck
Deathbird pulls its head down to spit the player more times.
Roll to one side and try to get behind the boss when his pecks will not reach you.
Scream
If you are near to it, the boss screams, causing Death Blight buildup. It may do this several times.
Counter: Just roll out of the area and stay away until the attack comes to an end.
The Leap Slam
The boss jumps up in the air and performs an overhead slam.
Counter: This attack has a good track, therefore you will need to dodge the slam as it is on the way.
Cane Slam
Deathbird swings its cane and performs an overhead slam. This causes a minor AOE explosion.
Counter: After the slams come down, roll away and keep away until the shockwave from the AOE explosion goes away. Get to the boss''s back and attack while it recovers from it.

General Strategy
The bosses fight with the Deathbird are quite simple and easy to understand. The main goal of your organization is to chip their health by focusing on their giant heads. After most attacks like Leap Slam and Cane Thrust, you have the chance to attack its head by doing a jumping heavy attack. This also causes significant damage to the boss and reduces their poise gradually.
Alongside the head, you may focus on its legs. Each attack will give you enough time to counterattack. Peck is another attack to look for, since the boss can multiple times damage you and knock you back. Lightning Incantations are quite beneficial against the boss. Lightning Spear and Horned Bolt are both available early on in the game.
In this battle, Torrent allows you to move across the region and avoid deadly attacks like the cane Slam''s shockwave. During this ride, the boss will follow you and try to perform Leap Slam as quickly as possible. It is usually easier to do this on your horse.
This is the first time you encounter this status effect. This attack does not deal damage right away but fills up a bar which, when complete, kills you instantly. This is a dangerous move for someone who is not using a horse. It''s very nice to have an Order Healing app as it allows to alleviate the Death Blight buildup.
