Even among Nintendo enthusiasts who already have a previous Switch model, the Switch OLED is proving to be a great success. A recent financial report reveals the industry giant''s hardware sales and reveals that nearly half of all OLED customers already have a new Switch or Switch Lite.
40% of OLED purchasers have purchased a Switch in the past, ten percent higher than the amount of Switch Lite repeat purchasers. This indicates that Nintendo has successfully convinced its customers that the OLED has enough unique selling points to justify another major purchase, but is equally able to attract new players.
"We have had the ability to maintain a high amount of demand for the Nintendo Switch OLED model so far, and because it will impact this fiscal year, we believe this model will generate a substantial share of hardware sales," according to the latest Nintendo financial report.
25 percent of Switch models are replacement purchases, according to Nintendo. This means the OLED is doing fantastic in this market. The company is hoping to reach 21 million sales this fiscal year.
"We believe that the proportion of Nintendo Switch OLED Model sales will increase along with the increase in demand for multiple systems," said the author.
Elsewhere, Nintendo emphasizes strongly that it wants more users playing on the internet. This could result in a "uncreasing in availability for multiple systems," since this kind of multiplayer is more likely to solicit fans to purchase their own Switch rather than sharing one among the family as a result of local multiplayer.
The Switch OLED is available to purchase right now, retailing at around 300, or 350, in a game bundle.
