Following a bizarre Netflix decision, the Cowboy Bebop star makes a comeback ...

John Cho of Cowboy Bebop has nabbed a recurring role in the Apple TV+ murder-mystery comedy The Afterparty.

Deadlinereports that Elizabeth Perkins (Big), Paul Walter Hauser (Cruella), Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise) and Ken Jeong (Community) will all be part of the second season.

Zach Woods (The Office), Poppy Liu (Hacks), Anna Konkle (PEN15) and Vivian Wu (Station 19) have also joined the cast.

Each episode of the show investigates a different character''s narrative of a tragic evening, using different film genres and visuals to showcase their perspective. Ulysses is the character of Cho, while the whole narrative revolves around a death at a wedding.

Following the closure of Cowboy Bebop last Christmas, Cho was given a window of possibility.

After Netflix swung the axe, the actor said, "I''d got something wrong with that show. So I took a year off because of the surgery and focused myself on rehab, returned and performed.

"It was just a big event in my life, and it was suddenly over. It was very distressing, and I was embarrassing. But I was very worried by the reaction."

"I wish I had given up support to everybody and got hugs," the Star Trek man said of his performance. I''m not sure what this is. I''m a little bit aware of how you can connect with people that you don''t know doing your work, but I won''t hesitate to share it. I will appreciate it and cherish it.

"I''m just really appreciative that anyone would care," says the author. "It''s stunning to me."

Season 2 of The Afterparty is coming to Apple TV+ at a later date, while Cowboy Bebop is now available on Netflix.
