Zoya Akhtars Indian Adaptation of Archie Comics to Star Bollywood Legends Children ...

The Archies, a new Indian adaptation of Archie Comics, was announced on May 14, and the cast was confirmed. The identity of the central trio of aspiring actors who are presumably playing Archie, Betty, and Veronica was an open secret among Bollywood fans, and the elaborate announcement video also confirmed what many already knew.

The Archies will form the offspring of Bollywood legends, along with a handful of newcomers. Mihir Ahuja, Dot., Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina will join the cast of Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, perhaps the most famous screen icon, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda (grandson of acting royalty Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan).

The one-and-a-half-minute film, which was inspired by Ankur Tewari''s original track, teases the film''s 60s tone. The Archies, which was initially released last month, has been described as a musical drama that combines youth, rebellion, friendships, and first love.

While the announcement video doesn''t identify who is wearing the actors in full costume, it''s important for comics fans to play Archie, with Khan appearing as Veronica and Kapoor as Betty. A photo of Ahuja eats what is known in India as a Gupta Burger suggests that he is playing Jughead.

Akhtar previously directed a variety of topics in the Netflix anthology series Lust Stories and Ghost Stories. However, she is perhaps best known for Gully Boy, which was chosen as India''s official entry to the Oscars in 2019 as well. She is also the co-creator and co-director of the International Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime Video series Made in Heaven. For the Archies, she reunites with her long-time creative partner Reema Kagti, who will co-produce

She said she hopes the film portrays the nostalgia of a youngster who became involved in the film.

I am super excited to have the opportunity to experience The Archies. It was a big part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is why I am a little disgraced. I must make sure the film reflects the nostalgia of a generation that grew up on the comic and yet resonates with them today.
