Womens FA Cup Final 2022 Preview
For the first time since City''s defeat to Chelsea 3-1 in the Continental Cup back in March, Wembley will be the location where two of England''s best teams meet.
This edition of this match is a special one as it is the first time that the womens final is played on the same weekend as the mens.
This will be the fourth meeting between these two teams this season, after a taste of victory against Taylors side twice in the league. Back in November the Blues put four ahead of City at the Academy Stadium, while Hayes side was also dominant in the reverse match at Kingsmeadow, winning 1-0.
Manchester City Women defeated West Ham without being beaten in the first semi-final match. Ellen White and Chloe Kelly put them in the lead, before Lisa Evans pulled one back.
Gareth Taylors'' side appear to be in good form during Sunday''s match. The WSL team had already secured a Champions League spot on the last day of the season, including losing a game against Chelsea on February 9, thanks to a Guro Reiten goal.
The Citizens have turned their electoral turn around, claiming that they have lost one thing since November.
As both Demi Stokes and Jess Park are available for duty, the team will have a significant boost in this match.
Stokes had a bad time returning from the Womens Super League game at Reading, while Park was stranded since early April.
Chelsea close the season with a win over Manchester United less than a week ago. The Blues won the WSL trophy for the third year in a row, beating Arsenal in the last round. Now they want to win the domestic double against one of their biggest opponents.
Emma Hayes'' side have won the last 11 competitive games in a row. During their participation in the FA Cup final, the Blues scored 17 goals in a row, defeating Aston Villa, Leicester City, Birmingham City, and Arsenal.
