Naomi Judd Memorial Preview

After a long fight with mental health issues, Naomi Judd, who was quite candid about over the years, died on Saturday, April 30, of suicide.

She and her daughters, singer Wynonna Judd, announced the news on social media, declaring that today we sisters had experienced a tragedy. We are today devastated. We are aware of her profound sadness and that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.

The Judds, a country rocker, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on the next day. Ashley and Wynonna attended the event and gave emotional remarks to their mother.

Ashley said that she couldn''t keep on until today, but Wynonna said, "My] hearts were broken, and I feel so blessed." It''s a strange process to be this broken and this blessed.

Naomi previously talked to Today about her struggles, saying that during the morning show in 2017, I didn''t get off my couch for two years. I was so depressed that My husband (Larry Strickland) and my girlfriends and Ashley would come over and I would just go upstairs and lock the door to my bedroom. I was very depressed.

She added that we don''t get enough of the good neurochemicals in the brain. It''s a disease. It has no bearing on our character, so I was dangerously depressed.

According to a CMT press release, Naomi Judd will be presented at the public memorial on Sunday, May 15, without a commercial interruption. The special will include thanks to Wynonna and Ashley Judd, who has been announced, and special appearances from several of the most prominent companies in entertainment.

CMT previously aired the Judds'' final performance together, when they appeared on stage at the 2022 CMT Music Awards and sang Love Can Build a Bridge, which was their first nationally televised performance in over 20 years.

In a statement, we are privileged to work alongside Wynonna, Ashley, and [Naomis husband] Larry in this live celebration of life for their mother and wife Naomi. Despite our efforts to remember such a legendary artist, we are honored to commemorate her legacy with the Mother Church of Country Music, which is located in a perfect location. This special will highlight her unique voice, unsurpassed spirit, and the enormous impact she had on our genre through the best technique of healing we have music.

On CMT, Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration will air on Sunday, May 15 at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
