Phase 4 of the MCU: The Top 10 Characters (So Far)

Phase 4 of the MCU: The Top 10 Characters (So Far) ...

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be a big year for these new films and Disney+ series that follow the highly successful Infinity Saga. The fourth phase has also provided some of the franchise''s most intimate and emotional moments thus far.

Along the way, even more new characters have been added to the roster of MCU fan favorites. From WandaVision, to Eternals, to the newly-released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there are too many amazing characters to count. These characters are among the best of the Phase 4 projects that have been released.

10 Norman Osborn

As such, Spider-Man: No Way Home is a tribute to the history of Spider-Man movies. Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are making highly-anticipated returns as their versions of Peter Parker against a gauntlet of their greatest adversaries.

Norman Osborn, who plays Willem Dafoe in this film, isn''t done much more justice. Determining Dafoe''s ability to exploit Parker''s shortcomings is a good idea. The actions of him have potential consequences that will have a positive impact on Peter''s story for many MCU films.

9 Yelena Belova

Prior to Black Widow, Natasha reconnects with her adopted family, but also with Yelena''s sister. After being discharged from mind-control, Natasha and Yelena collaborate with their parents, Alexei and Melina, to free all of the brainwashed Black Widow assassins.

After Natasha''s death, Yelena confronts Clint Barton in the Hawkeye series, confirming that Natasha''s death was a sacrifice, and that the two commiserate over their lost sister.

8 Kate Bishop

Yelena isn''t the only stand-out character to appear in Hawkeye. The show also introduces audiences to Kate Bishop, an archer who is Clint Barton''s #1 fan. She''s played by Hailee Steinfeld, who has a lot of chemistry with Jeremy Renner, although she is very adept at Kate''s tragic, lone-wolf qualities.

Fans in Hawkeye discover that Kate''s fascination with Hawkeye erupted during the Battle of New York in 2012''s The Avengers. It was during this battle that Kate lost her father, leaving her and her mother all alone. Unfortunately, Kate isn''t one to be trusted.

7 Mobius M. Mobius

Thor''s trickster brother may enjoy a different story in the Loki series. Loki is a prisoner of the TVA, or the Time Variance Authority. This interdimensional organization is responsible for preventing the existence of vertical timelines by eliminating rogue Variants across the multiverse.

Owen Wilson joins the MCU as Mobius Mobius, an agent of the TVA who is tasked with investigating time criminals. Mobius, who plays the comedian in this role, is a well-known criminal who has gone from a skept bureaucracy to a rebellious force of justice in search of a jet ski.

6 Thena

Despite her aloofness, Chloe Zhao''s Eternals was a successful project for Marvel. The film introduces over ten brand-new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, containing the central race of near-immortals designed to protect planets from Deviants. One of them is Thena, played by Angelina Jolie, one of Earth''s most powerful Eternals.

Thena is subjected to a illness called Mahd Wy''ry, which has resulted in her being exiled from the Eternals, and her two friends develop to bond. However, the tragic death of Gilgamesh has resulted in her retaliation against the Deviants.

5 Sam Wilson

Sam Wilson has always been a trusted friend of Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America. At the end of Endgame, Steve gives his shield to Sam, naming him the new Captain America. The Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier enables Sam to come to terms with what it takes to take up the symbolic mantle.

Sam learns about the shield through his camaraderie with Bucky Barnes. Besides, his encounter with Isaiah Bradley, a black Super Soldier imprisoned by the US government, informs him of what needs to be changed. Sam may not have superpowers, but he has something more important: courage.

4 Xu Wenwu

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings introduce the MCU to the titular hero and his tragic upbringing. After falling in love and starting a family, Wenwu decided to abandon his violent actions.

After Shang-Chi''s mother, Ying Li, was murdered. The vengeful Wenwu trains his children to fight and spends the majority of the film in search of his lost wife. Most of all, Tony Leung, who makes Wenwu such a compelling character and villain, is directing Tony Leung.

3 Loki

Loki is one of the early characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as Thor and The Avengers antagonists in Phase 1. He encounters a tragic demise at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War, but a variant of Loki escapes with the Tesseract in Endgame. This Loki is the one audience who follows in Loki''s Disney+ series.

In the first episode of Loki, this Loki variant repeats all of his actions throughout the MCU. In a way, a character who was once unredeemable has no choice but to change when he''s imprisoned by time cops. By the end of Loki''s first season, the former trickster is a desperate hero who wants to save the multiverse.

2 Marc Spector

Marc Spector is involved in three roles in the MCU as a Marine-turned-mercenary, who after a near-death experience, is allowed to survive and serve Khonshu as an Egyptian moon god.

Spector''s childhood issues complicate this simple arrangement. When the show begins, audiences are introduced to Steven Grant, who discovers his dissociative personality disorder and realizes that he is a creator of Marc''s subconscious. Yet, the two halves eventually prove to be a great team.

1 Wanda Maximoff

Wanda Maximoff and Vision had merely supported roles prior to Infinity War. That phase 3 film provided the two their most emotional moment yet as Wanda kills Vision to spare him from Thanos. Nothing would surprise the Marvel fan that after Avengers: Endgame, Wanda would soon become the latest star with WandaVision.

Wanda''s dazzling performance in Multiverse of Madness makes her a favorite character.
