Sonic Manias drop dash in Sonic Origins, reduce Sonic 2 content ...

Sonic Origins is not a brand new Sonic game, but it is a collection of four remastered titles. The Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD are all included in the package, either in their original versions or in a fresh, souped-up 16:9 style. Moreover, they include a modern move for the blue blur to pull off and a special zone for him to explore.

The news comes from some fresh gameplay footage from a South Korean broadcast. Twitter account @TailsChannel provided a sneak peek at the new footage. Origins is a Sonic Drop Dash, a mechanic that was first introduced in Sonic Mania in the early stages of gameplay, which is great for keeping momentum, although it will be used in Origins Anniversary mode (but not in the classic versions of the games).

The hidden Palace Zone, a level cut from the original Sonic 2, will not be the first time players can run through it, as the zone was restored for Sonic 2''s mobile version, but it is still a great feature. Tails and Knuckles can get into the hidden area by falling into a bottomless pit in Mystic Cave Zones.

Sonic Origins is set to premiere in April, with the sequel to Sonic Frontiers, which will reach the next level, according to creative officer Takashi Iizuka. There is no release date for the game yet, but a PlayStation database leak has named it for November 15.
