Blood & Treasure is set to premiere in Season 2 just two days before it comes to life. Oh, and its transition from CBS to the Paramount+ streaming service.

Blood & Treasure, based on the works of Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia, is a brilliant antiquities expert (played by Matt Barr) and a cunning art thief who in Season 1 teamed up to track a cruel terrorist who funded his attacks through stolen treasure. As the two crisscrossed the globe hunting their target, they unexpectedly found themselves at the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.

Michael James Shaw (The Walking Dead), Katia Winter (Sleepy Hollow), James Callis (Battlestar Galactica), Oded Fehr (Covert Affairs), Alicia Coppola (Shameless) and Mark Gagliardi among the actors.

Neben Taylor Elmore, Ben Silverman, Marc Webb, Mark Vlasic, and Howard T. Owens, Federman and Scaia are both executive producers.

Blood & Treasure premiered on CBS in May 2019 with its final release scheduled for August. Season 2 was ordered midway through Season 1, in June 2019, following some initial solid-for-summer ratings.

Season 2 of COVID''s pandemic-related production delays, which ended just mid-December 2020. Blood & Treasure was among the shows expected to return at some point in February.

Barr has a central role on the CWs Walker prequel spinoff, Walker: Independence.
