Leslye Headland, a showrunner, revealed further details about The Acolyte, a upcoming series set in the Star Wars'' High Republic period. The story, which she revealed to Vanity Fair, has been recorded a hundred years before The Phantom Menace and will explain how the alterations in the Jedi Council impacted the creation of the Empire.
The Star Wars prequel trilogy reveals Anakin Skywalker''s (Hayden Christensen) descent into the Dark Side of the Force, which ultimately transforms him into the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Parallel to Anakins'' tragic story, the film explains how the Sith Lord Darth Sidious (Ian McDiarmid) infiltrates the Galatic Republic, spawning a war and ultimately ending the Jedi Council. According to Headland, The Acolyte
The Phantom Menace was always interesting, and we are taking a look at the political and personal aspects that occurred in a time that we do not know much. So how did we get to a point where a Sith ruler can infiltrate the Senate, and none of the Jedi pick up on it? What happened, though, was the reality?
A lot of these characters from the Skywalker Saga haven''t even been born yet. We''re discussing these political and personal and spiritual things that came up in a time period that we don''t know much about. How did it be to this point where a Sith lord can infiltrate the Senate and no Jedi pick up on it? What happened to this moment?
Headland highlights how The Acolyte is set in a seemingly peaceful era when Jedi Knights are not so used to mole in the dirt to resolve political issues. This change of pace will be manifested in the Jedi uniforms, which, as Headland declares, shine with the glory of stability.
The term "The Renaissance," "Action of Enlightenment" is effective in the United States, where the Jedi uniforms are gold and white, and it''s almost like they''d never be dirty. They''d never be out and about. That''s how little they''re getting into skirmishes.
Headland is accused of writing for The Acolyte out of acting as showrunner. Amandla Stenberg is said to be directing the series.
The Acolyte has yet to release a date. Obi-Wan Kenobi, starring Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master and Christensenas Darth Vader, is the next Star Wars show to premiere on Disney+ on May 27, with two episodes.
