The developer of Genshin Impact has announced that the online version of its new game for the first time is now live. Zenless Zone Zero, a post-apocalyptic action video, will feature players living within one of the few survivors who have fled New Eridu.
MiHoYo, which rebranded itself to Hoyoverse, is also working on additional projects. It is certain that it has the capability to do so, with Genshin Impact earning around $1 billion every six months on average, and the Shanghai-based developer is funneling those funds into several new titles.
Honkai Star Rail, a turn-based game, is another exciting game that will attract Honkai Impact 3rd fans, but Hoyoverse said it was in the works late last year. This is to be a "paranormal" action shooter with cars and a destruction system, which is being developed by Hoyoverse''s new Montreal studio.
Fans were left wondering if this paranormal action game was the same as Zenless Zone Zero. In a statement provided by GamesRadar+, the Zenless Zone Zero developer stated that Hoyoverse Montreal is indeed a different project.
The Zenless Zone Zero artwork that has been released demonstrates that the game is an anime inspired game, with stylishly drawn characters, but with an urban fantasy setting it might give different senses to Genshin Impact, while the creator described it as a "roguelike gameplay mechanism."
The project in development at Hoyoverse Montreal might be even larger in scope, with job listings depicting a "brand-new, AAA open-world action-adventure title." However, it should be avoided for a long time, since the project appears to be still in the early stages.
With Zenless Zone Zero, the Honkai Star Rail, and updates for the ever-popular Genshin Impact, Hoyoverse isn''t just being idle. And since Zenless Zone Zero turns out to be just as popular - and profitable - as Genshin Impact, MiHoYo/Hoyoverse might become easily one of the world''s finest indie developers.
