Robert Downey Jr., who plays on the film "Close+," is creating a new Discovery+ series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Downey''s Dream Cars (working title) will follow the Iron Man star and a team of experts as they restore classic automobiles to make them more eco-friendly.
The unscripted series aims to enhance classic automobiles for the environmentally conscious while preserving the appearance and appeal of the vehicle.
"My goal is to demonstrate that it''s possible to keep the integrity of classic automobiles while leveraging new technology and innovation to make them more eco-friendly." Downey Jr. said in a statement.
Matador Content, created by Team Downey and Boat Rocker, will produce the series that will be released on Discovery+ at the end of 2022.
Nancy Daniels, Discovery''s head brand officer, said of the project: "We are excited to bring audiences a series that demonstrates the self-worth of Downey and places his environmental passion at the forefront. That, and who better than Robert Downey Jr., will help make eco-friendly automobiles look this good?"
Team Downey, the entertainment company founded by Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey previously worked with Discovery+ on The Bond. Dolittle, Perry Mason, and Sweet Tooth are among the previous projects previously undertaken by the husband and wife team.
Downey Jr. is well-known in the upcoming Oppenheimer film, and last month we got a first look at him and Cillian Murphy of the Peaky Blinders.
