The Hydra Is Halo Infinite's New Mangler Replacement

The Hydra Is Halo Infinite's New Mangler Replacement ...

Season 2 of Halo Infinite is in full swing, and it appears that fans might start using the Hydra after the Mangler fanfs.

The Mangler nerf has one of the most controversial changes in Halo Infinite Season 2. Technically the weapon hasnt been changed in the major update, but a 10% reduction to melee damage is significantly affecting the pistol.

While previously the Mangler may kill an enemy with one shot and a melee for the kill, this is no longer possible. As a result of its slow firing rate and the removal of its key combo, the weapon is in a sorry state.

Fans of Halo Infinites'' latest Fracture event are disappointed. It''s always painful when you have to deal with the Mangler for your Weekly Challenges.

Season 2 of Halo Infinite''s Best Close-Range Option

Season 2 of Halo Infinite has a new close-range option that is just as promising as the Mangler.

If you miss the golden days of a one-shot, one-melee kill in Halo Infinite, place the Mangler on the one side. Instead, try to get your hands on the Hydra, an interesting weapon that is often overlooked in Infinite.

With lock-on or without, the Hydra can fire rockets in one of two ways. In three shots to the body, an enemy Spartan will be killed, but there''s a quicker way to finish your adversary.

Just shoot one shot at close range and melee for an instant kill, exactly the same as the Mangler used to do it. Even with the melee damage reduction, this weapon still managed to do everything it could.

Plus, it''s more versatile all-around! In the video by StandardAce below, the YouTuber demonstrates that the Hydra is the clear replacement for the Mangler in Halo Infinite.

In the meantime, Halo enthusiasts will get more bad news, as Infinite has just lost its head of design and lead environmental artist in less than 24 hours!
