The 12 Best Assassins Creed games, ranked ...

The Assassins Creed franchise has evolved and become more popular over the years. Ubisoft has connected the series to other franchises, like Watchdogs. Nevertheless, when it comes to choosing which games are better, it''s a real challenge.

The original main plot of Assassins vs. Templar has been shifted to a side-plot, and the real-world narrative is still struggling to feel less like a distraction. that doesnt mean the games released today arent enjoyable; they are just different. Many fans prefer the game, although they would prefer it to have stayed the same, but they are still fun to play through and add a lot more to the game with each installment.

Regardless of their genre, the following ranking is based on which games were the most enjoyable to play.

Best Assassins Creed games, ranked

It was difficult for Assassins Creed to switch from Altair to Ezio. It was important to find a partner for Altair that would also be visible to fans of the first game. Altair already had a love interest from a previous mobile game, but Bloodlines provided Altair with a new one, Maria Thorpe.

Maria becomes depressed with the Templar order, losing her husband, Robert de Sable, the first game antagonist. Graphics and gameplay are dated today, but the romance is perhaps the second best of the series, alongside Ezio and Cristina Vespucci.

Assassins Creed III received massive hype, but there were differences over whether or not the series should continue. However, the creators of Patrice Desilets wanted Assassins Creed to be a trilogy. Instead of a satisfying conclusion, fans could have a cliffhanger that would lead to more sequels and never saw Desmond achieve his potential.

Fans met Conner, a new assassin who discovers the order when his death comes to an end. Conner has a lot of potential, but he continues to struggle throughout the game, and its hard to relate to him when he mostly reacts instead of taking charge. Haytham, his father, would have been a better protagonist and admirable.

There were plenty of bugs in the game, but it was still incredibly fun. Although you no longer have a guild, many of the mechanics introduced in this game have been transferred into Black Flag. Building a Homestead and making money from your merchant enterprises should have been maintained in future games.

The original Assassins Creed was extremely controversial. It was a technical feat as one of the first games to allow players to climb anything and use parkour, and even though the story was great, the open world was absolutely no longer beneficial. Many players were frustrated by the lack of information.

The games story was quite unbiased given that some of the characters were actually real and died around the same time as the game suggests. At this time, historians depicted and tested many of the cities. There were Assassins and Templar in the middle east at this time, but they were confronted with one another.

While Ubisoft offered little of its first Assassins Creed offerings, it was polished and ahead of its presentation.

Ezio is back for one final installment. Its difficult to say this is an improvement over Assassins Creed Brotherhood because it works like a DLC. There are a lot of things players can do, but nothing is really expanded upon to do more. The game gave Ezio a few new gadgets and a love interest, and it gave fans the hope that Assassins Creed III couldnt.

Players watched the end of Altairs story at the same time as seeing Ezios. It was a fantastic farewell to two famous actors.

In addition, the player might do much more with their Assassins in the game. In the end, players might utilize the guild at its peak; the Assassins guild would never be more powerful than when Ezio was in charge, and it is shown. No other Assassins Creed game has made the guild feel as strong as this one.

Due to the controversial release of Assassins Creed Unity, Assassins Creed Syndicate was mostly ignored. It was initially released with many bugs and failed to captivate players like other games. However, the damage was already done before Assassins Creed Syndicate was released.

Players take on the role of the Frye twins as they restore the Assassins hold on London. Players fight and kill Templar as Jacob Frye, while Evie Frye and players sneak around and learn about their father.

The combat system in Assassins Creed Brotherhood was significantly improved, grappling hooks were introduced so players could move around the city, and gangs played almost as important a role as in Assassins Creed Brotherhood. Despite delivering so much of what fans wanted with a compelling story, Ubisoft shifted its focus to the game.

As players arrived at Assassins Creed Unity, it became clear that the Assassins had gone astray. They were so invested in politics and the dealings of the world that they neglected the innocent. In Assassins Creed Rogue, players can take on the role of a rogue Assassin who is, by this point, superior to the Assassins.

The Assassins Creed Rogue was set before Assassins Creed III and was later released at the same time as Assassins Creed Unity. During the game, you felt like a hero and as you destroyed the Assassins guilds and murdered the Assassins, you felt as if you were doing the right thing.

Ubisoft has built a huge fanbase for Assassins Creed 2. Ezio Auditore de Firenze, one of the best video game characters ever created. People felt more than just faces, but it is not to be thrust into the guild until the end.

Assassins Creed 2 takes place during the Italian Renaissance, where well-known artists like Leonardo De Vinci and Michaelangelo often come to mind, but others may consider the Medici family and their banking empire. In Assassins Creed 2, players may build their own city and invest in it. You may earn enough money to continue throwing money away repeatedly and still earn more than you threw away.

Ubisoft continues to construct games based on the Assassins Creed universe, but only lightly touches on the battle between Assassins and Templar.

Your role in Valhalla is that of a Viking, which has been requested since the second Assassins Creed released, and you are willing to do your Viking duty of pillaging, killing, and looting money.

Assassins Creed Valhalla is fun, but it strays so far from the core of the series that it doesn''t really feel like an Assassins Creed game. However, if you didn''t like the story and lore of Assassins Creed for PlayStation, this will appeal to you. Even though it has more content, it is not much better than other Assassins Creed games.

In Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Ubisoft decided not to worry so much about Assassins and Templar, rather than focusing on Edward Kenways'' story. But they don''t really play a major role until the game''s final touches. Until then, youre just a pirate who wants to plunder, steal, and kill. You are not a good guy or battling for justice.

The Assassins Creed IV Black Flag enabled you to establish a vast pirate empire focusing on ship battle. It has been in many games. If the company had called it something pirate-related and left out Assassins Creed, it might have fit it better.

Because this was the origin of Ubisoft, you play as Leonidas of Spartas grandchild and embark on a quest so far into fantasy that Assassins Creed Odyssey cannot be distinguished except in its locations.

This game has a lot of fun to play, and the skills you earn are quite useful. With the time you''ll probably become as powerful as a foot soldier to escape. Instead, you choose between Kassandra and Alexios and discover the truth about their family history.

It was still a lot of fun and made you feel as if you didn''t have to. There was a perfect balance between Assassins Creed and the new identity that Ubisoft was developing. At first, the God battles and Atlantis may seem ridiculous and odd, but they''re also a lot of fun to play and serve as a reward for your hard work in the main story.

Ubisoft was forced to start making one Assassins Creed game per year and began collecting feedback and improving it from there. Finally, Ubisoft showed fans where it all began. Bayek, this games main character, is one of the top three characters in the Assassins Creed franchise, and he represents everything we need in a protagonist. He is a protector of the people, a fighter for justice, and a blade in the crowd.

Assasins Creed Origins is a revenge story that makes you want to kill all members of the Order of the Ancients, who are the Templar''s ancestors. The game also features some historical figures, and the wife of Bayeks is actually one of the Assassins depicted in Altairs'' master assassin armor room.

At the end of the game and the DLC, you have begun the assassins guild called Hidden Ones. We didn''t get a chance to learn more about Bayek, but we''d love to see him return and get a good ending.

Ubisoft''s best efforts enabled players to overthrow Rome, train and build huge guild houses for their Assassins, and make the guild extremely wealthy. It felt like losing a friend when an assassin died.

Ezio became the beloved character he is today and featured Cesare Borgia, one of the best villains ever written for gaming. The plot and story felt like they were from a movie, but the confrontation between these two geniuses of war was unparalleled. Not to mention the rocky ending that filled in many plot holes.

The gameplay alone would make this game number one, but ultimately, the side missions with Cristina kept with players for years. Cristiana Vespucci appeared briefly inAssassins Creed 2, and many players wondered what happened to her. In the side missions, the friendship between Ezio and her was explained, and the ending is sure to bring you to tears.
