If you ever get lost in Minecraft, you may need to rely on a little luck or death or respawn. A Beacon can help you with the shootout and directions you to go. On top of that, you may have some great bonus status effects depending on your block situation.
How to craft a Beacon
When water touches a lava source block, you need to compose the Beacon block in Minecraft, using five Glass blocks, three Obsidian, and a Nether Star. Obsidian is mined with at least a Diamond Pickaxe. It can only be removed by The Wither, a boss mob that can only be called in by placing three Wither Skulls on four pieces of Soul Sand.
The three Obsidian along the bottom of the crafting recipe, the Nether Star in the center slot, and the glass filling all of the other slots.
How to activate and light the Beacon
You need to gather blocks of Iron, Emerald, Gold, Diamond, or Netherite to create a pyramid with them. If you have enough to mix and match the structure, you may make a pyramid. The importance of creating a pyramid between one and four layers is to determine how many status outcomes you earn from the Beacon. Here''s how many blocks you need to create each layer, as well as the boost you get.
- One 9 blocks, Haste or Speed
- Two 34 blocks, Resistance or Jump Boost
- Three 83 blocks, Strength
- Four 164 blocks, Regeneration
Place the Beacon in the middle of the top layer and the light will shoot into the air. You may alter your status by inserting a Netherite, Diamond, Emerald, Gold, or Iron piece in the slot.
