Ian Flynn, the writer of Sonic Frontiers, recounts his stories and discusses his time with Sega ...

Since it was officially revealed, not much has been revealed about Sonic Frontiers'' plot. The only thing fans have had to go off of is a vague plot summary and the name of a locality in the game. Despite the secrecy, Flynn has revealed a few key details about the plot of Sonic Frontiers and discussed how to deal with Sega.

Although Ian Flynn is considered the writer for Sonic Frontiers, he wasn''t given control of everything in the game''s story. In an interview with IGN, Flynn says Sega "provided the story, backstory, plot beats, and usable characters" and told him to write about what he was given. Compared to the comics, he notes that writing for a mainline Sonic game was completely different.

As he talks with IGN, Flynn reveals the meaning of Frontiers. Sonic, his sidekick Tails, and Amy Rose travel to the Starfall Islands for the dramatic immediately. Flynn says "things take a turn for the dramatic immediately, and Sonic is left alone with a lot of questions." The blue blur explores the mystery of the islands as he seeks to find his family and the significance of the events observed in the Emeralds.

It sounds like a typical Sonic setting, but it appears that things might be more interesting than they appear. Ian also notes that "Sonic''s never-say-die attitude" is put to the test in this environment as he assists his colleagues. Flynn also suggests a sort of new character who "is not always a comforting process."

As development continues to shift, Ian mentions that each plot point must be "massaged and revised" to match the game''s pacing. He also notes that there will be individual character arcs between Frontiers and the rest of the Sonic series, highlighting Dr. Eggman''s character in particular being taken in "some interesting directions."

Although no details from Ian have been revealed in official updates yet, many users may be unaware that Ian Flynn was writing for Sonic Frontiers. It appears that players will need to wait for further information when it comes to what Ian Flynn has in store for Sonic and his family.

Holiday 2022 will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
