Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for Batwoman''s Ruby Rose and The Kissing Booth 2 star Tamara Perez''s new comedy 1UP.
Alexa and Katie''s Paris Berelc are joined by V, a varsity esports player who is forced to quit her college because of misinformation from her teammates, particularly from team leader Dustin (Perez).
Now that V and her best friend Sloan (Hari Nef) receive the help of their video game expert teacher, Parker (Rose), the trailer shows. V and her best friend are on the line.
The 8-Bits are a new women''s gaming game set by Parker in order to compete against and defeat V''s former teammates.
Nicholas Coombe (The Wilds), DJ Mausner (Insecure), Madison Baines (Transplant), Lolita Milena, Kevin Farley (The Waterboy) and Stephen Joffe (Alias Grace) are some of the stars who have starred alongside Berelc.
The first film from Lionsgate and BuzzFeed''s new partnership is released.
Richard Alan Reid of BuzzFeed previously said of the film: "1UP is a fresh, authentic comedy with extensive social commentary, with a broad spectrum of hugely talented and often underrepresented voices.
"Through this combined effort, we''re eager to harness the power of the internet to reach worldwide millennial and Gen Z audience members and tap into one of the most passionful internet fanbases."
After Elliot Page of The Umbrella Academy stepped down earlier last year, the role of Parker was shifted to Ruby Rose.
Rose told Digital Spy about how she joined Elliot following her departure.
"Actually, the role came to me because I had told the guys that did The Doorman over and over again how much I wanted to do a comedy and do some other roles that weren''t just killing people, kicking butt, and taking names."
"I play a teacher, and it''s really cute." I read the script, and said, "OK, I have to do this film." "This is exactly what I want to do."
On the prime video, 1UP will be released on July 15, 2022.
