Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Characters Have Been Reimagined As Previous Gen Sprites ...

We''re going to be honest with you for a moment: the older Pokemon games really miss the 2D art style. Yes, it''s just something new about it, right? There was a clear lack of discussion about the graphics back in the day, however, there was a slight outrage from fans about the slow evolution of the series'' visuals, but that''s all about it.

The visuals of Pokemon, according to this writer, reached out to Gen 5, which included Pokemon Black and White, as well as their immediate sequels. So far, we''re looking forward to seeing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but we can''t help but wonder what such games would be like with the older pixelated visual technique instead of the more advanced 3D graphics.

We''ll not have to wait until then, as Reddit user CoffeeRacoon has expanded its sprites to depict what the protagonists of Scarlet and Violet - along with the starter Pokemon - might presumably look like in the previous games (thanks, GameRant).

The starter Pokemon Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco have been created by altering the sprites for Purrloin, Ducklett, and Totodile from Gen 5. During the same time, the sprites for the protagonists have been created by altering a couple of Diamond and Pearl NPC sprites from Gen 4.

Despite a variety of differences between the sprites and their official counterparts (Sprigatito looks quite stern when it comes to the more cheerful expression shown in the official art), this is an incredibly excellent attempt at blending the old with the new. Indeed, we''d be more than willing to play a version of Scarlet and Violet with pixelated graphics - imagine how incredible it would appear!
