How to Watch Them, The Best Greta Gerwig Movies

How to Watch Them, The Best Greta Gerwig Movies ...

Greta Gerwig, one of the first names I think of when it comes to some of the greatest actors and actresses who have truly made a name for themselves in the last couple of decades, has become a household name. She began off her acting career before settling in acting and later moving into acting as a director.

If you like me and are looking for some of Greta Gerwigs'' finest films, then look no further. Here are 10 picks that I believe youll see from start to finish, starting with one of her oldest films.

LOL (2006)

LOL is not just a phone message you just read, that''s the actual title of the film. In this independent film, LOL follows three distinct connections between recent college graduates, and how the technology they own influences their behavior.

LOL is a film based on youre going into believing in personal connections rather than a consistent plot. It still works wonders and truly tells a fascinating story. Back in 2006, Greta Gerwigs'' film made a comeback, revealing what she did as an actress and director, and it''s astonishing to see her in this video - where she is fantastic.

Little Women (2019)

Little Women, the first of two Gerwig-directed films on this list, is based on a similar name, mainly following the story of the March sisters during the 19th century, as they strive to embark on their own journeys in life and make a name for themselves in a world in which women didn''t have as many opportunities as they now.

This was the second feature that Greta Gerwig directed (well get into the first later down the list), but I have enjoyed seeing this film once more. From Florence Pugh and Saoirse Ronan''s incredible performances, to the storyline, and the rest of the incredible Little Women cast overall, this film is sure to become a classic. It''s one of the films that Im sure is to become a classic, all thanks to Gerwig''s great direction. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards,

Frances Ha (2012)

Next up, we have Frances Ha, a black and white dramedy, starring Greta Gerwig. This film focuses on Frances, a young, 27-year-old womon who is faced with a tough time when her best friend she has ever longed to move, and now it''s up to her to make sense of her life and rather settle down.

I think that she is the lead of this film for promoting Gerwigs'' ability, so you really get to see Frances on a stage with not only her dramatic acting skills but her comedic timing. Certainly, Frances is a character that we all can relate to, both with her constantly changing roles, but also having to learn to accept them and become a better version of herself. This film also features Adam Driver in one of his best roles, so please check it out.

20th Century Women (2016)

By a longshot, Greta Gerwig''s favorite film is 20th Century Women, which she has directed. This drama film follows a young boy surviving in the 1970s, and the three women responsible for his growth: his mother, his close friend, and the family''s tenant.

I freaking love Gerwig in this role. Seriously. It''s not talked about enough. While this film also features Elle Fanning and Annette Bening, Greta Gerwig''s role in this film must be praised, because her involvement as Abbie has made me cry many times.

She is such a talented person that I would sincerely wish to be my greatest friend, and Gerwig shines it beautifully. It annoys me that this film didnt receive as many accolades as it should have, but I can at least recommend it to others.

Jackie (2016)

Jackie, a biographical film about one of the former first ladies, who died at the age of her husband, and how she learned to adapt to her new role in the White House, is moving on.

Greta Gerwig reveals how fantastic she is in a dramatic role, telling a story that people like me, who are quite young and not as educated about history, didnt know. From start to finish, it was incredibly rewarding.

Lady Bird (2017)

Next up, we have Gerwigs'' first film, which I think everybody should see, no matter what. Lady Bird is a coming of age drama drama starring Saoirse Ronan about a high schooler who has a strained relationship with her mother and is trying to grow up and learn how to accept herself despite terrible things in her life.

I truly believe that in every sense of the word. While Ive always loved coming of age movies, there''s something about this film that sits with you, because it''s another case of, Ive never met this person once or twice during its run time. It''s raw, emotional, and deserved all of the praise that it received. As the first film Gerwig directed, she deleted it, putting it in the park, oh well.

Maggie''''s Plan (2015)

Maggies Plan, a romantic comedy that will make you smile, is now available. Starring Greta Gerwig and Ethan Hawke, along with several other big stars, Maggies Plan follows a young lady who is considering having a baby, so she decides to go through it without a romantic partner. But, when she starts to develop feelings for someone, her plans are thrown into a spiral.

Maggies Plan is certainly the one that isn''t super serious, but what makes it stand out amongst many Gerwig''s other films is that she has fantastic chemistry with Ethan Hawke. He and Gerwig somehow make this strange couple that I cant help but enjoy, and the twists and turns that this film takes makes it almost impossible to turn away from the screen.

Isle Of Dogs (2018)

Next up, we have a great Wes Anderson film, Isle of Dogs. In this animated film, a young boy discovers his missing dog Spots and ends up on Trash Island, a place that is inhabited by dogs, where he befriends them and makes it his goal to return the dogs.

The Isle of Dogs cast, which features Greta Gerwig as Tracy Walker, a foreign exchange student from America, and who work with the young boy, Atari (Koyo Rankin), is fantastic. I just love her friendship with Gerwig, who is very helpful in more animated films. I''d love to hear her once more.

Mistress America (2015)

Mistress America, a comedy starring Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke, tells the story of a young lady who is struggling to adapt to her college life, so she decides to grow closer to Brooke, her soon-to-be stepsister, and this in turn enhances her life - for better or worse.

I thought it was possible to put myself in the characters shoes. Even though a lot of the craziness that occurs in this film is something I''ve never experienced, Gerwig correctly depicts something that we all have experienced once or twice as we have grown older: loneliness. This feeling that we are accepted and have unconditional love, which is absolutely demonstrated through her friendship with Brooke. This is a film you only need to see once to get the message, and it''s fantastic to watch because of this.

To Rome With Love (2012)

To Rome With Love, a romantic comedy starring Woody Allen, will be released in the following direction: how much the area can influence their behavior or how their relationship alters as time goes on.

Greta Gerwig is a member of Johns Story, a part of the film that tells the tale of John (Alec Baldwin), an architect who is traveling with his family and meets a young man and his girlfriend, Sally. This one instance of the story changes his life forever, and the story itself is full of surprises that will truly sway your mind and make you laugh. Gerwig herself is fantastic in her role as Sally, Jack''s girlfriend, Jesse Eisenberg. It''s just not
