Smile is the first horror film in a long time, with a genuinely horrifying twist ...

Every horror fan wants to see any movie they''re sitting down to be profoundly frightening, but it''s rare that a trailer for Smile, a new horror film from Parker Finn, is a rare exception. The trailer for Smile, a first-time director, was also quite creepy, mostly because of a few old-fashioned smiles. It''s planned to premiere in theaters on Sept. 30.

The trailer does not include much explanation of the film or its characters, but it also clears the basic purpose of the films: After seeing a terrible, seemingly invisible thing, people become fixed with scary grins and die a week later.

The trailer gives the movie the most enjoyable possible premise, keeping the audience focused, and making sure that their wide eyes and unnerving smiles do most of the scaring. The trailer is also eerily still, giving the movie and the old-school feel. It isn''t all about romance, though check out those closing moments.

Sosie Bacon (Mare of Easttown), Kyle Gallner (the 2022 Scream), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Rob Morgan (Stranger Things), and Kal Penn (Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle) star in Smile.
