Love Islanders "don''t care" about Gemma Owen''s famous footballer dad Michael to mention him, according to ex-Islander Afia Tonkmor.

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are just a few of England''s national teams he played for in a career lasting 17 years, but none of 2022''s reality show contestants seem to bring him up in conversation.

Afia (who was detained from the villa over a week ago) revealed whether they actually know that he is Gemma''s father in her recent Instagram Stories conversation.

"If people do know I did know before I went in because I watched her VT, but if they do know, they don''t care. Nobody really cares," she said.

"I don''t know who he is. I know he is a football guy. It was never, ever spoken about in my presence."

In a satisfying conversation between Gemma and her partner Luca Bish, it became apparent that the latter had absolutely no clue about the Owen connection.

"You''re sporting, you''re into football, you''re racing, and you''d have something in common with my dad," she said. "I think he appreciates a guy who''s in sport and all of that kind of stuff. I hear you talking about football and racing, and I''m like, ''Ooo''."

"Yeah, I love playing football, and I know what I''m talking about with football," Luca said of the incident.

"Yeah, you talk about it all the f**king time," said Gemma, but this only allowed an unintentional stinker from Luca, who returned with: "Well, we''ll see if [your dad] knows what he''s talking about!"

To be a fly-on-the-wall for Michael and Luca''s first-ever encounter (should it happen).

Love Island is airing on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and Britbox.
