Elliot Page, who plays The Umbrella Academy, has credited his transition for "dramatic" improving his life.

In an interview with Seth Meyers on Tuesday (June 21) the actor discussed his coming out journey and how it has affected his life since.

"I think it''s made me better in so many ways," he said. "As a person, as a friend, and in other ways... It''s drastically improved my life," he said. "I hope that people who have an issue with me may try and hear that and embrace that on some level."

Page can now be seen in season three of The Umbrella Academy, which premiered on Netflix today (January 22). His appearance has been incorporated into his character, who now uses the name Viktor.

The actor of X-Men talked about how he was involved in the development of Viktor''s software, and how Steve Blackman, the show''s creator, had embraced it fully.

"When we first discussed it, he seemed really interested in incorporating it into the show," Page told Meyers. He added that they worked with Thomas Page McBee, a trans author and journalist, who gave them a hand.

In March, the actor announced that Page''s transition would be acknowledged in the comic book series. Page tweeted a still of his character at a bar with the caption: "Meet Viktor Hargreeves."

The tweet on Netflix''s LGBTQ+ page read: "FEELS SO GOOD TO SAY THIS: Elliot Page stars as Viktor Hargreeves in Umbrella Academy S3!!!"

Viktor''s main account has been credited, according to the streamer, "Welcome to the family, Viktor, we''re so pleased you''re here."

Seasons 1-3 of The Umbrella Academy are now available on Netflix.
