Carol Vorderman, star of Countdown, has been signed by Celebrity Gogglebox ...

Gyles Brandreth, star of Celebrity Gogglebox, has joined Dame Shirley Hancock, Maureen Lipman, and Joanna Lumley on the show, but this week he''ll be seen alongside another TV legend.

Carol Vorderman, the veteran TV presenter best known for the Countdown and the Pride of Britain Awards, announced that she would join Gyles this week.

"CELEBRITY GOGGLEBOX...," Carol wrote on Instagram. "So I''m making my debut this Friday 9pm on one of my favorite shows of all time and joining the @c4gogglebox gang....with my friend of 40 years @gylesbrandreth....

"Watch this week and let me know if you agree. We''re a bit vocal...no holds barred."

Carol Vorderman (@carolvorders) wrote a post.

Will they actually watch and react to any of this week''s Countdown, which sees Anne Robinson guest, Rachel Riley on numbers, and Robert Rinder, who assists Susie Dent out in Dictionary Corner?

Anne Robinson has been named host of the show after only one year, although she admitted that she actually produced more episodes than she was originally hired to.

"I have four grandchildren, a large garden, and a house in New York, all deserving of my attention," she said.

Colin Murray has stepped in to host temporarily until a new host is discovered. After covering for Nick Hewer during COVID, he was dubbed his "fave show ever."

Richard Osman, who has recently announced that he''ll leave the BBC One quiz show Pointless, was alleged to be a permanent host of Countdown. However, he has ruled himself out and demanded that Murray be offered the role.

"I keep reading I''m the favourite to run for the next Countdown program. But there are still three issues," he said.

"1. I just gave up a show I love because I have no time. 2. @susiedent and I am mortal enemies. 3. They should give the job to @ColinMurray."

On Channel 4, Celebrity Gogglebox airs on Friday nights at 9pm.
