Gina Rodriguez and Zachary Levi have been officially cast as the main leads in the next Spy Kids reboot. In 2001, the popular family-orientated spy franchise got its start. With director Robert Rodriguez on the hook, the original Spy Kids films included Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alexa PenaVega, and Darly Sabara. All together, they formed the core members of the famous Cortez family.
Following the launch of the program, Spy Kids had a fantastic run at the box office. In total, the classic films raised over $300 million worldwide while simultaneously having to work within a tight budget. This is not director Robert Rodriguez''s first attempt at reorganizing the program back in 2011. With a brand-new family at the forefront, Jessica Alba and Joel McHale.
Unfortunately, the Spy Kids: All the World received the worst reviews it has ever experienced so far, with the lowest box-office performance to match. Despite all these failures, the Spy Kids franchise is likely to return better than ever before. At the time of the reboot, fans were skeptical whether or not any of the original cast members would be cast members. Recently, Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez and Shazam! starLevi will play their children on-screen.
Following the casting announcement, Robert Rodriguez had already signed a contract with Netflix to reboot Spy Kids one last time. Moreover, Robert Rodriguez had also signed on as writer and director.
The new Spy Kids movie will be released after the children of secret agents accidentally end up giving a powerful game developer complete control and access to the internet. This eventually gives him complete control and access over all sorts of technology. The virus is now the foundation for the youngsters to once again embody being spies and aspirating their parents in reviving saving the world.
Although a release date has yet to be decided, it''s safe to say that fans are eager to see the spy family back in action.
