In 2013, Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio released A Plague Tale: Requiem. The direct sequel to 2019s A Plague Tale: Innocence, the stealth survival game, continues the story of Amicia de Rune, a 14th-century girl, as she attempts to protect her little brother Hugo against the agents of the French inquisition.
A Plague Tale: Requiem has a specific release date, which will be available on stores and digital stores on October 18th. This announcement came at the conclusion of the extended gameplay trailer, which has been released today.
Focus released a game trailer for A Plague Tale: Requiem during the Microsoft/Bethesda Showcase on June 12th. It demonstrates Requiem''s more action-focused approach to stealth and how violence has intangible to Amicias personality. Today''s trailer focuses on one of the several locations shown last week, offering up more than ten minutes of nearly uninterrupted gameplay. It also reveals that the kids are looking for a mysterious island somewhere in the Mediterranean.
A Plague Tales Amicia and Hugo play on a swing as they discuss the future. It''s a calm moment between the two siblings, contrasting the violence that holds them to stand behind them. Unfortunately, a group of soldiers is called off to their meeting.
While Amicia has a variety of weapons, the first half of the game explores Hugo''s abilities. Hugo''s telepathic connection with the rats allows Hugo to see enemies through walls, like Dishonored''s Dark Vision abilities. This makes it much easier for the siblings to escape their enemies, although they still need a few more mundane techniques.
The second half of the trailer depicts Amicia quietly eliminating the soldiers standing between them and the relative safety of a nearby building. Smoke pots allow her to stun enemies, while firebombs can spawn huge amounts of oil or large grass. Amicia also has a host of melee takedowns as well.
The final scene demonstrates another of Hugos'' powers in Requiem, demonstrating how he can control swarms of rats to devour enemies. Unfortunately, it''s not a power he has much control over, as a flood of rats closes in on A Plague Tales brother and sister team. It''s a shameful way to assume the pair survive, though.
On October 18th and 2022, A Plague Tale: Requiem will be released for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
