Without Bernard the Hot Elf, Disney proposes a fresh photo of the Santa Clause series ...

ICYMI and Disney are developing a TV show based on The Santa Clause and its two sequels. On his 65th birthday, Scott Calvin will be revisited. He realizes that he cant keep up this Santa Clause schtick forever, so he is planning to have a replacement.

Santa in a button-up, Kal Penn, and Station Elevens Matilda Lawler are some of the things that kept us informed. Bernard the Hot Elf is clearly lacking in this promotional image, but Justice is also important to Bernard!

Bernard the Hot Elf, as played by David Krumholtz in 1994s The Santa Clause and the 2002 sequel, is actually Bernard the Head Elf. He is the elf who shows Tim Allens Scott Calvin around and more importantly for this article, has inspired young childhood crushes everywhere. Was it the dreamy brown eyes? The gorgeous curly hair? The unimaginable New York accent?

In a conversation, Krumholtz alleged that when I was 16 years old, perhaps I had a swagger.

Krumholtz, who is now 44, might be asked to reprise his role by the reasoning of the Santa Clause movies. However, when the showrunners explained away why Bernard is now a 44-year-old man, there is also the possibility of whether Krumholtz even intends to reprise his role. This is partly because of scheduling constraints, but partly because he thought the script devalued the character.

Bernard does not appear to be involved in The Santa Clauses, or at least in this promotional photo. Kal Penn, of Harold and Kumar fame, meanwhile, joins as Simon Choksi, a game inventor with dreams of becoming the next Jeff Bezos, who might also become the next Santa. The show will premiere later this year.
