Matt Lintz, who plays Matt in Ms Marvel, has missed out on the MCU Spider-Man role ...

Matt Lintz, the actor of Marvel, claims to be in contention to play Spider-Man before Tom Holland agrees to join the game.

Lintz, now playing tech-whizz Bruno Carrelli on Iman Vellani''s superpowered Kamala Khan and Miss Marvel, spoke with Insider recently about his life in Marvel Studios.

Before Captain America: Civil War, Lintz said, "I was in the top line for Spider-Man, which eventually went to this guy, Tom Holland. I don''t know if you know who he is. He is such a stunning person and an actor."

There''s no bitterness, though, as Lintz described his anticipated Ms Marvel casting as a "full circle."

When his show and Spider-Man: No Way Home were shooting scenes near each other, he was even introduced to Holland in Atlanta.

"It was cool because he got to know one of our partners one day, and I just got to speak to him, and I look up to him in so many ways," Lintz said.

Further into his chat, the star of The Walking Dead talked about his surprise journey to becoming Bruno.

"It was my freshman year of college. I was about two months in and I got an audition," he said. "It was untitled, but for Marvel. I was like, ''OK, well, I probably won''t get it."

Lintz took part in a screen test with Vellani and Rish Shah (who plays Kamran), which became a popular choice among Marvel''s casting directors.

"I went straight into filming, and I had to drop out of school to do this," he said. "School" is always there. If I want to go back, I may be able to return.

"But right now, I''m doing this, and I''m really pleased."

Ms Marvel has streamed on Disney+, with new episodes coming to the news on Wednesdays.
