Hollyoaks'' spoilers follow.
Gabriel Clark, star of Hollyoaks, will not play Ollie Morgan in the role of Digital Spy.
Gabriel has already recorded his final scenes on the show, with Ollie''s departure expected to premiere at the start of next month.
In recent presentations, Ollie made a sluggish resounding noise about leaving the village, after contemplating taking a job overseas in Canada.
In the lead-up to Luke''s funeral, Ollie will revisit that opportunity, before making the decision to leave.
Gabriel addressed his departure to Digital Spy: "The Hollyoaks set is such a special place, and the most remarkable people you could ever be lucky enough to see every day." The concept of leaving makes me sad, but I''m equally sharing everything I''ve learned over the past two years, and I''m excited to see what''s next.
"There are a few things in the pipeline that I''m not permitted to talk about. I''m also really excited because I''m returning to theatre and I''ll be performing a play.
"I feel like Ollie steps into that cab,," says the author, who is optimistic, anxious, and concerned about making the correct decision, but I''m not sure where the future will take him.
"But whatever happens, I''ll do it as he would, with a big smile on my face, hope in my heart, and the love of all those people from Hollyoaks. That will always be with me, wherever I go."
Following Aedan Duckworth''s abrupt departure on-screen earlier this year, Gabriel assumed the role of Ollie in 2020.
Prior to that, Chris Neeson had previously appeared on the Channel 4 soap, one of the young men who testified against Ollie''s abuser Buster Smith during his trial.
As Luke''s secret son, Ollie''s character was initially introduced in January 2018.
Ollie was then taken center stage in one of Hollyoaks'' most-acclaimed issue-based narratives, as he was sexually assaulted by his football coach Buster.
Ollie''s other characters include becoming a young father to baby Thierry, who was put up for adoption, and dealing with Luke''s terrible illness and eventual death.
On Channel 4, Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Monday to Thursday at 6.30pm, with the first look screens at 7pm on E4. Classic episodes, titled Hollyoaks Favourites, air on Fridays at 7pm on E4.
