In July, Age of Empires 4 season 2 will introduce a map preference system ...

Relic Entertainment have updated the upcoming Season 2 and 3 of Age of Empires, as well as timelines for a variety of features, including a full hotkey remapping and a map preference system. In March, the first details for season two of the RTS game were revealed.

Season two also includes a new map and a player colour picker, which allows you to now choose empires fashion preferences before a skirmish in single-player and multiplayer matches.

The Pit is the new map, which is expected to be competitively focused with a mostly open layout. More details on that, as well as the work that Relic has done to help resolve any hotkey conflicts, will be released shortly.

This implies a fresh ranked season, as well as new seasonal events, and a selection of balance changes, which the team describes as significant but will be discussed shortly before the second seasons launch.

Relic talks about its season three plans, which is currently expected to introduce taunt capabilities and cheats to the strategy game. It claims these are based on what youve seen and experienced in previous Age titles, but that its hoping to expand on the cheats available.

A new patch allows Age of Empires 4 players to select multiplayer map sizes. The game also saw recent nerfs to the Khans and mangonels.
