The N64 Update for Switch Online is now live (Version 2.4.0), and here's what's included ...

Switch Online''s Nintendo 64 application received an update earlier today, which included version 2.4.0 and adding Pokemon Snap to the service. However, it''s not all.

Nintendo does not release patch notes for application updates like this, but fortunately, we have some insight into what''s going on behind-the-scenes in this latest update, thanks to OatmealDome.

Alongside Pokemon Snap, the changes and adjustments make reference to many other games like Star Fox 64, Mario Golf, and F-Zero X. There''s also a possibility of additional text (referencing mic support) being added. Here''s the whole breakdown:

Version 2.4.0 of [NSO - Nintendo 64] is out.

Pokemon Snap has been added. Since the EU has four ROMs (one per language), they get four boxes on the selection screen. - The text The microphone isn''t allowed when holding the controller this way. (Ported from Famicom NSO app??)

- Nintendo is beginning to remove the comments from the config files, making it difficult to tell what was changed. - A CPU hack was added to Kirby 64. - The AOT executable and PCB file for F-Zero X and Mario Golf were changed.

The N64 app update last month made a number of minor changes to the existing library of games on the service. Nintendo has made several significant changes since the release of this Expansion Pack library, like restoreing fog in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
