Jason Blum claims to be interested in allowing Robert Englund to return for a nightmare on Elm Stree ...

A Nightmare on Elm Street, a beloved 1980s film, has been rebooted for years, but this time, given the interest in slashers, and with Halloween Ends coming in October 2022 and Scream 6 coming to theaters in March 2023, this would be the next natural franchise to be revived. After a 2010 remake was not a hit with critics or audiences, it feels like the appropriate time for more Freddy Krueger.

If a new film is successful, audiences are curious if Robert Englund would reprise his role as Freddy Krueger, the famous slasher villain. This is something that is particularly beneficial to fanatics.

Jason Blum wrote in an interview with Screen Rant that he believes that he may convince Robert Englund to play Freddy Krueger in a new film. Blum said, "I could make him come back. I can get anyone back. Ellen Burstyn died in the Exorcist."

In Stranger Things season 4, Robert Englund played Victor Creel, the traumatized man who lost his family to Vecna years ago. In an episode of The Goldbergs, Englund also played Freddy Krueger. In an animated TV series Regular Show, which aired from 2017 until 2021, Englund played himself.

Englund told The Hollywood Reporter that his Stranger Things part happened because he loved watching the show and after finishing a season 3 role, he hoped that he would win the part of Victor Creel. Englund''s wife mailed an audition tape and it was a treat for horror fans to see the legendary actor be a part of this thrilling and fast-paced season of the popular Netflix series.

In 2015, Game Spot said that only Robert Englund may play Freddy Krueger; although some say it was a sequel to A Nightmare On Elm Street, there have been no clear findings. However, according to the author, there was no chance of another sequel to A Nightmare again, and the author stated, "Everybody wants to see Freddy again, so I think it''s inevitable at some point."

Blumhouse has successfully rebooted the Halloween franchise with 2018''s Halloween, 2021''s Halloween Kills, and the upcoming Halloween Ends. It is also working on an untitled The Exorcist sequel, which is expected to be released in 2023. It will include new projects and reboots of familiar franchises, including The Craft: Legacy in 2020 and a new Firestarter in 2022, as well as the reimagining of Fantasy Island from the 1970s.
