ICYMI and Disney are developing a television show based on the Christmas movie classic The Santa Clause and its two sequels. On his 65th birthday, Scott Calvin will be remembered, as played by Tim Allen. He realizes that he cant keep up this Santa Clause schtick forever, so he is planning to hire a replacement. Disney has unveiled the first look at the new series on Twitter.

Santa in a button-up, Kal Penn, and Station Elevens Matilda Lawler are all on the rise. But here''s what was missing that caught us eye: Bernard the Hot Elf''s distinction in this promotional image! Justice for Bernard!
Bernard the Hot Elf is actually Bernard the Head Elf, as played in In 1994s The Santa Clause and the 2002 sequel. He is the elf who shows Tim Allens Scott Calvin around and, most important for this article, inspired young childhood crushes everywhere. Was it the dreamy brown eyes? The gorgeous curly hair? The unimaginable New York accent?
In a conversation, Krumholtz said that when I was 16 years old, I had a swagger.
Krumholtz, who is now 44, is unlikely to reprise his role as a child, despite being hundreds of years old. But even if the showrunners made a decision on why Bernard is now 44, there is also the significance of deciding whether or not to reprise his role. Fortunately, the script did not devalue the character.
Bernard doesn''t seem to be a part of The Santa Clauses, or at least in this promotional photo. At present, Elizabeth Mitchell joins the cast as Carol aka Mrs. Claus. Kal Penn, a game inventor with ambitions to become the next Jeff Bezos, has joined the cast. The premiere of the show will be later this year.
